Day 4 Social Media Fast. Today, I did not wake up angry. I was not…
Day 5 Social Media Fast
Day 5 Social Media Fast and I survived. It is getting easier. I find much freedom in laying my phone on the mantle and not even looking at it. Today has been filled with emotion, just coming off the weekend. Still, not up to par with dealing with things. Sad, I know.
Hunter was amazing again today. There were no fits, at all. He slept till 9 am this morning and he took a good nap. Kids finished up schoolwork for the year (2018 year, not the whole school year) and I had a chiropractor appointment. Hunter begged to go with me.
He, not only fed himself breakfast AND lunch, but he dressed himself. Today’s choice was blue jeans and a cute little yellow shirt. We headed out. He loves the chiropractor. I think, deep down, he knows that the adjustment makes him feel better. Add that to the fact that he loves Kyle…he loves the whole staff and they love him. He has them wrapped around his little finger.
After that, we went to Walmart. In my emotional haze, I ripped off the glass doors to our downstairs tub. Not only that, I took out the shower head, the faucet, the little round thing, the drain…I ripped it all out. I cannot even describe the disgust that I saw (and smelled). Good gravy.
Luckily, Noah was there to help with the heavy lifting. Grayce was there to clean up the mess. I tell you, that girl has a stomach of steel and can clean the nastiest spots. Lifesaver is what she is, simple as that.
Favorite Food: Asparagus
We didn’t get much at Walmart because they didn’t have everything that I needed. Asparagus was the only thing Hunter wanted, so I bought some. I’m a sucker for Asparagus, I guess. We headed home. I was able to chat with my sister and Hunter went down for his nap.
While he was napping, I headed to Murray to get the parts I needed. I had made a mess of the bathroom and it needed fixing. Luckily, my son-in-law offered to help. Graciously, I did what I could. Assembled what was necessary to survive, called my daddy and my brother…then left it up to Big Daddy and Ben.
Blessing today was that I got Hunter into a 3 day a week preschool. We will go on Friday to meet his teacher and see his room. He will start in January. I am so excited I cannot hardly stand it. It is high time we stop treating him like a fragile little egg. That child needs to be around other tiny humans learning tiny human things.
Daniel was in preschool for about a half second. Victoria went to Mothers Day Out for a couple of hours twice a week. This is all new to me and I am stoked. We get to experience little parties and have little friends. I am beside myself.
My mind wanders…is it the new meds or the focusing more on Hunter that has helped him out. He wants me, all the time. Constantly asking me to play with him and now I do because I am not filling my time with mindless things.
Granted, I miss seeing stuff and when someone tells me “didn’t you see it on Facebook” moments. All in all, I’m preferring this. It is nice to stop comparing myself to the people I “follow.” Both my daughters on doing this fast with me and that has been nice, as well. We all text each other when we get the urge to mindlessly scroll.
Day 5…in the books.
