Ethiopia Time

This week, on the 9th, marks the 4th anniversary of Little Man’s adoption day.  Do not get it confused with the “coming to America day” because they day came 14 mths later.

In honor of that, I’m setting out to make my first (I know…I know…shame on me) traditional Ethiopian meal.

People.

I’m scared.

Ethiopian food has such a distinctive taste that it may be hard for me to duplicate, but I’m going to try.  My sweet friend, Betty, sent me the traditional Ethiopian spices (Berbere and Tumeric).  She also sent injera chips.

Little Man has not had this type of food in a very long time.  It saddens me that there are not restaurants and no convenient, trustworthy places to order injera or anything else that relates to food and his culture.

I will be taking lots of pictures and posting on my success tomorrow.  I will also post recipes for those who might be interested.

Pray as you think about it!

On the menu:

Doro Wot

Misir Wot

Gomen Wot

Beef Tibs

Injera

Injera Chips

..then I have a friend making rice and I will be getting pita bread in case the injera sucks.

Oh, I’m so nervous!

This is our journey of adoption, love, homeschooling and living life to the fullest.....even if we do live in chaos (can't have anyone over syndrome).
