The Naked Garlic

Because my sweet friend, Starr, posted this on facebook….and I happened to have an entire bag of garlic….I thought I’d give it a whirl.

Let me back up….school started back on Tuesday for the kids.  Most parents would be nibbling at the tires of the school bus, but alas I am the school bus.  I am the teacher.  I am the principal.  I am the school.  There was lots of whining ecstatic children just dreading so excited about school resuming.

Lets just say…..I, too am, exhausted excited about school starting.  Though my excitement is a lie real, I still had a bit o tension running through my body.  I believe it is the bitter cold temperatures that we are not used too.  My kids *know* they can’t run outside and play so it has been WWIII in this house.  Guns blasting, dogs shivering, leaping, bounding, bouncing, bullying, food flying, dancing, screaming, whining, stomping, bathrooms flooded, wrestling kinds of days.

To let my tension out, I remembered Starr.  See, Starr and I have never “officially” met because she lives on the other side of the states from me.  She is, however, a fellow ET mom and she met my son before I did 🙂  We are kindred spirits and we eerily think alike.  She is precious and a warrior in many ways.

She posted an easy way to peel whole garlic.  I love garlic.  I love everything about garlic.  It makes me happy.  I put it on just about everything.  I never get bitten by mosquitoes and vampires never try to suck my blood 🙂

Today, I took my tension and my bag o garlic and I looked like a raving mad lunatic shaking and shaking.  I might have cursed under my breath.  I had pieces of garlic in my hair, on my shirt and it peels were  FLYING.  It was glorious.  Now, I have an entire quart sized baggie of minced garlic.

My tension was utilized in an appropriate manner.  I said a few dirty words.  I thought about Starr and her potty mouth and I thanked her for her brilliance.

Here are my pictures…cause I took some 🙂  I’m becoming one of “those” people!ImageImageImageImageImage
